Diagnostic accuracy refers to how well a medical test or procedure correctly identifies or rules out a disease or condition. It encompasses two main components: sensitivity (the ability to correctly identify those with the disease) and specificity (the ability to correctly identify those without the disease). For example, in the context of diagnosing alopecia, a test with high diagnostic accuracy would reliably distinguish between individuals who have alopecia and those who do not.
