5 / 1000+ resultsresearch Perceptions and Utilization of Telemedicine for Hair Loss Treatment: A Survey-Based Analysis of Korean Consumers
The study surveyed 697 Korean adults with hair loss concerns to assess their perceptions and use of telemedicine for treatment. Despite 91% having tried hair loss treatments, only 31.2% used telemedicine, mainly due to skepticism about remote diagnosis adequacy. Over 40% believed in-person evaluations were necessary, while others cited app usability and prescription concerns. However, 82.3% of non-users were open to future telemedicine use, attracted by lower costs and convenience. The study suggests a hybrid model, combining initial in-person assessments with remote follow-ups, could address diagnostic concerns and increase telemedicine adoption. Educational initiatives and improved technology could further enhance its acceptance.
