medication used to treat depression and aid smoking cessation
Bupropion is a medication primarily used to treat depression and to support smoking cessation. It works by inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters involved in mood regulation and reward pathways. Commonly known by brand names such as Wellbutrin and Zyban, it is also sometimes prescribed off-label for conditions like ADHD and seasonal affective disorder.
