    A fistula is an abnormal connection or passageway that forms between two organs or vessels that do not usually connect. This can occur due to injury, infection, inflammation, or surgery. Fistulas can develop in various parts of the body, such as between the intestines and the skin, or between the bladder and the vagina, and often require medical or surgical intervention to treat.
