Methanol, also known as methyl alcohol or wood alcohol, is a simple alcohol with the chemical formula CH3OH. It is a colorless, volatile liquid commonly used as an industrial solvent, antifreeze, and fuel. Methanol is highly toxic to humans if ingested, inhaled, or absorbed through the skin, leading to symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, and in severe cases, blindness or death.
