type of blood cancer affecting plasma cells in bone marrow
Multiple Myeloma, also known as Plasma Cell Myeloma, is a type of blood cancer that originates in the plasma cells, a kind of white blood cell responsible for producing antibodies. This disease leads to the accumulation of abnormal plasma cells in the bone marrow, which can interfere with the production of normal blood cells and cause bone damage, kidney problems, and a weakened immune system.
