nerves outside the brain and spinal cord
The Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) consists of all the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, which are part of the Central Nervous System (CNS). The PNS connects the CNS to the limbs and organs, facilitating communication between the brain and the rest of the body. It includes sensory nerves that carry information to the CNS and motor nerves that transmit commands from the CNS to muscles and glands.
