neurotoxin used to treat muscle overactivity and reduce wrinkles
Botulinum Toxin Type B, also known as Myobloc or Neurobloc, is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction, thereby causing temporary muscle paralysis. This toxin is used medically to treat conditions involving muscle overactivity, such as cervical dystonia, and cosmetically to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
