Chinese company gets green light for Pyrilutamide PhaseII trial for androgenetic alopecia. Androgen receptors downregulate in androgen deficient environments.
Kintor Pharma completed patient enrollment for a PhaseII trial in China for GT20029, a potential new treatment for hair loss. Some believe GT20029 could replace finasteride if effective, while others discuss finasteride's limited efficacy and potential underreported side effects.
Kintor Pharmaceutical's Phase 2 results with the drug Pyrilutamide, a potential alternative to 5-ARI drugs like Finasteride and Dutasteride but without the side effects. It could be used in combination with other topical treatments such as Minoxidil. The safety of the drug has been demonstrated in 6 months of use, however there are still questions about long term efficacy and systemic absorption.
Finasteride, Minoxidil, Bioneer CosmeRNA, Technoderma, Kintor, Hope, Breezula, and Follicum treatments showed increases in hair count, with Technoderma showing the highest increase at 24.3 hairs/cm². Amplifica has not yet published results.
Breezula offers modest hair growth similar to finasteride and is expected to be available by late 2026. It is a safe alternative without hormonal side effects and works well with minoxidil.
