In vitro and in vivo models, including a bleomycin-induced skin fibrosis murine model, demonstrated that BMS-470539 effectively reduced skin thickness and fibrosis markers without causing additional fibrosis when administered intradermally. The findings suggest a promising therapeutic strategy to manage fibrosis and potentially other diseases with shared pathogenic mechanisms, such as arthritis.
