April 2024 in “Veterinary Science and Medicine Journal” A 7-month-old mixed breed dog with dermatitis caused by Malassezia fungal infection and Rhipicephalus sanguineus tick infestation showed symptoms such as itching, alopecia, and oily, rancid skin. Diagnosis was confirmed through cytological examination and the dog exhibited lymphocytosis and hyperchromic macrocytic anemia. Treatment included oral itraconazole, loratadine, fish oil, sebasol shampoo, and multivitamins. After 14 days, the dog's condition improved with reduced symptoms and hair regrowth.
