TLDR The new laser is effective, safe, and fast for permanent hair removal.
The pilot clinical study evaluated a new high-power (4,800 W), 810 nm diode laser with a spot size of 20x15 mm for permanent hair removal. The study involved two subjects and eight treatments on various body areas, using both static and dynamic application modes in a single session. The laser demonstrated effectiveness, achieving a mean hair reduction of 74.4% in one session, with treatment times averaging 5.5 minutes. No significant side effects were reported, aside from perifollicular edema, which is considered a desirable outcome. The laser's optimized spot size and sapphire-crystal cooling system allowed for safe, comfortable, and efficient treatments on both large and small areas, suggesting it could achieve permanent results in fewer sessions.
