The study assessed a high-power triple-wavelength diode laser (810, 940, and 1060 nm) in nine Indian patients with Fitzpatrick skin phototype IV, focusing on hairline enhancement, facial hirsutism, and conditions like pilonidal sinus disease, trichostasis spinulosa, and hidradenitis suppurativa. The laser achieved a significant hair reduction of 82.9% ± 15.4% and improved conditions by 50%-75% on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale. Mild to moderate erythema and edema were noted but resolved quickly, indicating safety and effectiveness for darker skin types. The study suggests this laser is a versatile option for cosmetic dermatology in darker-skinned populations, though larger studies are needed for validation.
