TLDR The triple-wavelength diode laser effectively and safely reduces hair and improves skin appearance in people with darker skin.
This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a high-power triple-wavelength diode laser (810, 940, and 1060 nm) for treating facial hirsutism, inflammatory follicular disorders, and aesthetic concerns in individuals with darker skin types. Conducted at the Escallent Institute of Lasers & Aesthetic Medicine in India, the study involved adults with skin type IV. Results showed a significant hair reduction of 82.9% ± 15.4% and a mean improvement of 3.4 ± 0.4 out of 4 on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale, indicating a 50%-75% improvement. No adverse events were reported, suggesting the laser's efficacy and safety for these applications.
