TLDR Hair growth supplements significantly improve hair growth and health in women.
This 6-month study involving 150 women aged 18-70 found that multi-targeting hair growth nutraceuticals (HGNs) significantly increased linear hair growth rate (LHGR), anagen hair count, terminal hair count, total hair count, and scalp coverage. Improvements were observed as early as day 90 and continued through day 180, with mean relative increases in LHGR ranging from 18% to 37%. The study also noted improvements in the anagen-to-telogen ratio, indicating healthier hair growth cycles. Participants' self-assessments supported these findings, despite some mild adverse events. The study suggests that HGNs effectively enhance hair growth and overall hair health in women experiencing hair thinning, although limitations include the open-label design and exclusion of men.
