TLDR Siddha medicine may effectively treat alopecia areata, promoting hair regrowth and confidence.
This case report examines the effectiveness of Siddha medicine in treating a 23-year-old male with alopecia areata, characterized by patchy hair loss. The patient received internal Siddha medicines, Parangipattai and Palakarai Parpam tablets, and external application of Muthiyar Koondhal Ennai for 45 days. The treatment resulted in complete reduction of the hair loss patch, visible hair regrowth, improved SALT score, reduced psychological distress, and increased confidence, with no adverse reactions. The findings suggest that combined internal and external Siddha therapy may be effective for managing alopecia areata, though further studies are needed for validation.
