Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a hormonal disorder in women that can lead to complications such as irregular periods, weight gain, and excessive hair growth, and increase the risk of hypertension, diabetes, and ovarian cancer. Diagnosis involves medical history, pelvic exams, blood tests, and ultrasounds. Management includes lifestyle changes, plant-based remedies like spearmint tea and cinnamon, conventional treatments such as birth control pills, and nutritional supplements like inositol, omega-3 fatty acids, and magnesium. The future of PCOS treatment is moving towards personalized medicine and evidence-based herbal formulations.
