TLDR The method effectively creates acellular dermal matrix from pig skin while preserving structure.
The study aimed to develop a method for manufacturing acellular dermal matrix from pig's skin dermis while preserving its native structure. The process involved a combination of physical and chemical treatments, including freeze-thaw cycles, glycerin dehydration, osmotic stress, and detergent washing. Histological analysis showed that the collagen scaffold maintained its structural organization throughout the process, and the protocol effectively removed nuclear and cellular structures, including fibroblasts, epidermocytes, and endothelial cells. The study concluded that the suggested protocol was effective, and modifications could be made by adjusting temperature differences or the number of freeze-thaw cycles.
