Exploring the Link Between Acne Vulgaris Severity and Adolescents' Quality of Life in Gresik

The study conducted by Rizki Nur Amalia and colleagues at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik analyzed the relationship between acne vulgaris severity and adolescents' quality of life in Gresik. Using a cross-sectional correlation research design, the study involved 210 teenagers selected through simple random sampling. Data was collected using the CADI questionnaire and observation sheets, focusing on acne severity and quality of life. Results showed that 46.2% of participants had mild acne, 45.2% moderate, and 8.6% severe. In terms of quality of life, 1% experienced no disturbances, 25.7% mild, 31.9% moderate, and 41.4% severe disturbances. The Spearman rank test indicated a significant relationship (p < 0.05) between acne severity and quality of life, concluding that more severe acne is associated with a lower quality of life among adolescents in Gresik.
