TLDR Aesthetic hair treatments boost self-esteem and confidence by promoting hair growth, but more research is needed.
The study evaluated minimally invasive and non-surgical aesthetic procedures focusing on hair loss through an integrative literature review from 2007 to 2022. It highlighted that alopecia is a common concern in dermatology, with non-scarring alopecia, such as androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium, being the most frequent. These conditions can impact self-esteem and mental health, leading patients to seek treatments that should be personalized. The review found that aesthetic hair treatments significantly improved self-esteem and confidence by promoting hair growth. However, it concluded that while current treatments are evolving, further research is needed.
