TLDR Combining treatments like minoxidil, microneedling, and platelet-rich plasma is more effective for hair loss than using them alone.
This narrative literature review examines aesthetic pharmacy approaches for treating androgenetic alopecia, highlighting the superior effectiveness of combined therapies such as minoxidil, microneedling, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) over isolated treatments in improving hair density and quality. It underscores the critical role of pharmacists in guiding treatment adherence and personalizing therapies. The review suggests that integrating pharmacological and aesthetic therapies, supported by evidence-based practice, offers a promising strategy for managing androgenetic alopecia. However, it calls for more rigorous scientific studies and standardized protocols to ensure treatment safety and reproducibility.
