Aesthetic Pharmacy: New Perspectives On The Pharmacist's Role In Cosmetology

    The study highlights the growing role of pharmacists in the aesthetic market, emphasizing their importance in guiding the use of dermocosmetics and performing certain aesthetic procedures. It is a qualitative, descriptive literature review that underscores the pharmacist's technical-scientific training in skin care, cosmetic actives, formulations, pharmacology, toxicology, and biosafety. The findings suggest that pharmacists contribute to the rational use of cosmetic products, prevent adverse reactions, and provide individualized patient care. The study concludes that aesthetic pharmacy expands the professional scope of pharmacists, enhances their market value, and promotes safer, ethical, and more qualified aesthetic practices.
