This study investigated the effect of Alexandrite laser hair removal, which emits red and infrared light, on the activity of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) in 20 patients. The participants, mostly female with a mean age of 32.65, underwent six monthly sessions of laser treatment. Key measures of SLE activity, including the SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI-2K) and serum levels of Anti-ds-DNA, C3, and C4, showed no significant changes before and after the treatment. The study concluded that laser hair removal is safe for SLE patients and does not exacerbate the disease.
