TLDR The aloe-collagen dressing speeds up wound healing effectively.
The study developed a novel porous wound dressing combining aloe polysaccharides and collagen (AP-CD) that significantly accelerates wound healing by reducing inflammation and promoting angiogenesis. The dressing demonstrated excellent water absorption, air permeability, biocompatibility, and safety. In vivo experiments on Sprague–Dawley rats showed that wounds treated with AP-CD healed faster compared to controls, with complete epithelialization by day 14 post-injury. The dressing's efficacy is attributed to its ability to modulate inflammatory and growth factors, enhancing cell proliferation and tissue regeneration. The study also highlighted the role of macrophages and T lymphocytes in the healing process facilitated by AP-CD, showing promise as an effective biological dressing for wound treatment.
