TLDR DPCP works best for alopecia areata, but more research is needed for better treatments.
The review from 2013 aimed to identify the most effective treatment for alopecia areata, a condition with limited understanding and unsatisfactory treatment options at the time. After examining various studies, the author concluded that Diphenylcyclopropenone (DPCP), a topical sensitizer, showed the best results. However, the review emphasized the need for further research into the pathogenesis of alopecia areata to develop better treatment options.
