TLDR Effective treatments exist for hair loss, and a new guide helps doctors choose the best one.
Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) affects a significant portion of the population, with 80% of White men and up to 40% of women experiencing it by age 70, impacting mental health and quality of life. Current treatments approved by American and European agencies are effective and safe, but other therapies also show promise despite lacking randomized clinical trials. This review summarizes available treatments and proposes a practical management algorithm to assist clinicians in choosing the most suitable therapy based on clinical experience and disease severity.
