Anti-Particulate Adhesion Efficacy of a Cosmetic Product: A Controlled In Vivo Study Using a Patented Exposure Chamber

    The study assessed the anti-particulate adhesion efficacy of a cosmetic sunscreen using a patented exposure chamber with 22 healthy adult females aged 46–68. The results demonstrated a significant 55% reduction in carbon black particle adhesion on treated skin sites compared to untreated control sites. Statistical analyses, including the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, confirmed the significance of this reduction (p < 0.001), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.43). The study validated the chamber-based protocol as a reliable method for evaluating anti-pollution cosmetics, highlighting its potential for consistent and reproducible results under controlled conditions.
