TLDR Tridax procumbens flower extracts can kill bacteria.
This study evaluated the antibacterial activity of aqueous and methanol extracts of Tridax procumbens flowers against Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The extracts were tested using the agar well diffusion method, and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined. The methanolic extract showed MIC values between 18.75 mg/ml and 150 mg/ml, while the aqueous extract had MIC values between 18.75 mg/ml and 37.5 mg/ml. The study concluded that both extracts demonstrated antibacterial activity, suggesting that Tridax procumbens could be a potential antibacterial agent.
