Comparison of Antibacterial Effectiveness of Averrhoa Bilimbi and Muntingia Calabura Leaf Extracts Against Staphylococcus Aureus

This study compared the antibacterial effects of Averrhoa bilimbi and Muntingia calabura leaf extracts on Staphylococcus aureus, a bacterium involved in acne. Using three concentrations (2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%) in a completely randomized design, the study found that both extracts significantly inhibited S. aureus growth, with higher concentrations leading to larger inhibition zones. Muntingia calabura leaf extract demonstrated stronger antibacterial activity, suggesting its potential as a natural treatment for acne.
