Antifungal Activity Test of Hair Tonic with Black Fungus Extract (Auricularia Polytricha) Against Malassezia Furfur Growth

    This study investigated the antifungal effects of hair tonic made from black ear fungus (Auricularia polytricha) extract on the growth of Malassezia furfur. Using a Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments and 4 repetitions, the study found that the hair tonic with a 70% concentration of black ear fungus extract exhibited the strongest antifungal activity, significantly inhibiting the growth of M. furfur compared to other concentrations. The study concluded that the black ear fungus extract hair tonic effectively inhibits M. furfur growth, with 70% being the optimal concentration for antifungal activity.
