Research Trends in Appearance Care and Self-Management Among Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Survivors in Japan: A Scoping Review Protocol

This scoping review aims to map existing literature on appearance care and self-management among adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors in Japan, focusing on those aged 15–39 years. It seeks to identify study characteristics, summarize key findings, and highlight research gaps to guide future research and clinical practice. The review will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and PRISMA-ScR guidelines, using Ichushi-Web and PubMed for data collection. The expected outcome is a comprehensive overview of research trends that will inform evidence-based interventions and improve supportive care for AYA cancer survivors experiencing appearance-related changes due to cancer and its treatment.
