Efficacy And Safety Of Baricitinib Treatment In Alopecia Areata: A Retrospective Analysis

This retrospective analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of baricitinib in 30 patients with severe alopecia areata. The study found that hair regrowth began on average after 4 months, with complete regrowth in 16 patients after 10 months. By the 12th month, 63% of patients achieved a SALT score of ≤20, indicating significant improvement. Adverse events were mostly mild, including laboratory abnormalities, headache, and mild infections, leading to treatment discontinuation in only one case. The findings support baricitinib as an effective and safe treatment for severe alopecia areata.
