    This bibliometric analysis of 4,515 articles on strabismus research from 2004 to 2023 highlights advancements in AI-assisted diagnostics, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches. The USA, China, and the UK are leading contributors, with the USA having the highest scholarly influence. The study notes a shift towards innovative treatments, including non-surgical interventions, and emphasizes the need for further research into genetic and neurodevelopmental mechanisms. It underscores the importance of international collaboration and integrating diverse fields such as psychology and public health to improve patient quality of life. Despite limitations like potential underrepresentation of non-English publications, the analysis serves as a roadmap for future research directions.
