TLDR The hydrogel significantly speeds up wound healing and improves skin recovery.
The study developed a hydrogel wound dressing using oxidized Brachybotrys paridiformis polysaccharide (OBPP) and O-carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS), which demonstrated excellent biocompatibility and enhanced wound healing capabilities. The hydrogel promoted human umbilical vein endothelial cells migration and showed superior in vivo wound-healing performance, with the hydrogel-treated group achieving significantly smaller wound areas by day 9 (7.59 ± 1.83%) compared to the control group (44.14 ± 18.22%). By day 15, the hydrogel group exhibited nearly complete healing with smooth, scab-free skin, highlighting its potential as an effective wound dressing.
