TLDR Early diagnosis and treatment of hair and scalp diseases in children can improve their growth and mental health.
The study evaluated hair and scalp diseases in children by reviewing 5385 patient records from a dermatology clinic, identifying 546 cases (10.13%) with such conditions. The most common diseases were seborrheic dermatitis (33.2%), alopecia areata (15.9%), and telogen effluvium (14.1%). The prevalence of these conditions varied by age and gender, with certain diseases more common in females and others in males. Early diagnosis and treatment were suggested to positively impact children's growth and psychological development.
