TLDR Chinese burn and plastic surgery guidelines need better transparency and evidence quality.
The study assesses the quality of Chinese guidelines and consensus on burn and plastic surgery from 2022 using the STAR rating tool, focusing on scientificity, transparency, and applicability. Among 334 guidelines and 1,143 consensuses, 14 were related to burn and plastic surgery, all being expert consensuses without formal guidelines. The average STAR score was 43.89, suggesting significant room for improvement, especially in transparency and evidence evaluation. The study underscores the need for better protocol adherence and evidence quality in guideline development, advocating for the use of tools like the GRADE system to enhance future guidelines and consensus in these fields.
