Referee Report: Demographic Status and Training Needs of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in Government and Private Hospitals: Evidence from Guangdong, China

The study surveyed aesthetic plastic surgeons in Guangdong, China, revealing that over 60% transitioned from other specialties, with one-third having less than three years of experience. It found that government hospitals had more surgeons with graduate degrees focusing on repair and reconstructive surgery, while private hospitals were more market-driven, prioritizing eye plastic surgery. Most surgeons expressed a strong desire for continuing training, preferring short, topic-focused courses and operation demonstrations. The study suggests that training programs should consider these demographic and organizational differences to better meet the needs of aesthetic plastic surgeons, emphasizing practical skills and new technologies.
