    The study developed a photocrosslinkable chitosan quaternary ammonium salt-based ternary hydrogel, G/C-CS@FGF-21, to improve diabetic wound healing. This hydrogel combines fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF-21) for inflammation resolution, chitosan for antimicrobial function, gelatin for mechanical resilience, and collagen for cell adhesion. In vitro, it promoted anti-inflammatory macrophage polarization and fibroblast activity. In diabetic mice, it accelerated wound closure by reducing inflammation and enhancing reepithelialization and angiogenesis. The findings indicate strong potential for clinical use in managing diabetic wounds.
