The study examined 30 cases of cicatricial alopecia, focusing on clinical features, histopathological findings, and hair examination. It identified distinct characteristics for different types of cicatricial alopecia: pseudopelade showed irregular atrophy with tufts of normal hair; folliculitis decalvans had inflammatory papules and pustules; DLE presented with cutaneous features; lichen planopilaris had violaceous atrophic patches; and morphoea showed sclerosed plaques. Histopathological analysis revealed specific patterns, such as elastic fiber accumulation in pseudopelade and irregular fibrosis in folliculitis decalvans. The study suggested pseudopelade as an autonomous disease due to its unique features.
