TLDR The nanogel with Ciclopirox Olamine is a promising treatment for skin yeast infections.
The study developed a nanogel formulation (F4) containing Ciclopirox Olamine for treating cutaneous candidiasis, aiming to improve topical delivery over conventional treatments. The F4 nanogel demonstrated optimal physicochemical properties, including a pH of 5.67, viscosity of 22200 cps, and drug content of 92.93%. It showed a 93.68% drug release over 8 hours and a 17 mm zone of inhibition against Candida albicans, compared to 24 mm for the standard treatment, Miconazole. The nanogel's improved penetration, sustained release, and effective antifungal action suggest it as a promising candidate for treating cutaneous candidiasis.
