TLDR The dermal filler is safe and effective for improving facial appearance.
The study evaluated the safety and efficacy of a 30 mg cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler for facial rejuvenation in 122 participants, primarily with Fitzpatrick skin types 3 and 4. Over a 1-year follow-up, significant improvements were observed in wrinkles, facial aesthetics, cheekbones, and lips, with no filler-related adverse events. The filler effectively reduced wrinkle depth, increased cheek volume, and improved lip contour, with 36.88% of patients being "very much improved" after 1 year. The study highlights the filler as a safe, minimally invasive alternative to surgical procedures, though it notes limitations such as the lack of a control group and a predominantly Fitzpatrick skin type 3 and 4 population, which may affect generalizability. Future studies are recommended to include a more diverse population and control groups.
