TLDR RHA fillers are effective and safe for treating nasolabial folds in people of color.
This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of resilient hyaluronic acid (RHA) dermal fillers for correcting moderate-to-severe nasolabial folds in people of color (POC) compared to non-POC, involving 217 participants from two clinical trials. Results indicated that POC experienced greater improvement in wrinkle severity and higher responder rates than non-POC, with statistical significance at several time points. Both groups reported high satisfaction and similar Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale scores. Adverse event rates were lower for high Fitzpatrick skin types, with no keloidal scarring reported. The study concluded that RHA fillers are effective and well-tolerated for POC, supporting their use in diverse patient populations.
