The study compared two methods for isolating human Wharton’s Jelly Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hWJ-MSCs) from umbilical cords: the explant method and the enzymatic method. Both methods successfully isolated hWJ-MSCs, which showed high purity and positive expression of markers CD44, CD90, CD105, and CD73. The isolated cells demonstrated the ability to differentiate into adipogenic, chondrogenic, and osteogenic lineages, indicating their potential for use in regenerative medicine. Both methods were found to be efficient in producing hWJ-MSCs with high proliferation capacity.
