    A study conducted on 31 helmets from online motorcycle taxi passengers at Tugu Station, Yogyakarta, found that 61.3% were contaminated with dermatophyte fungi, specifically Trichophyton mentagrophytes (57.9%) and Trichophyton rubrum (42.1%). The research highlighted that helmets used for over five years and those infrequently cleaned had a higher risk of fungal contamination compared to newer and regularly cleaned helmets.
