TLDR Deucravacitinib effectively treats psoriasis and may help with other skin conditions.
Deucravacitinib, a selective TYK2 inhibitor, has shown robust efficacy and sustained responses in treating moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, offering a potentially improved safety profile compared to conventional JAK inhibitors. Real-world studies confirm its rapid clinical improvement and favorable tolerability in diverse patient populations, including those with difficult-to-treat areas. Beyond psoriasis, emerging evidence suggests potential benefits in treating various inflammatory and autoimmune dermatological conditions, such as alopecia areata and cutaneous lupus erythematosus. Although current evidence outside psoriasis is limited, deucravacitinib may be a versatile option for refractory or complex cases, with ongoing trials needed to further define its long-term efficacy and safety.
