TLDR The dog was successfully treated for tapeworm infection and improved with supportive therapy.
A 4-month-old female dog named Aci was diagnosed with Dipylidium caninum infection, a zoonotic tapeworm transmitted through fleas. The treatment involved administering Caniverm®, containing fenbendazole, pyrantel embonate, and praziquantel, along with supportive therapy using Livron B.plex and fish oil to promote hair growth. Five days post-treatment, the dog showed significant improvement, with no worms detected in fecal examinations. The study recommends routine deworming every three months, quarantining infected animals, regular bathing, maintaining a clean environment, and promptly removing feces to prevent reinfection.
