TLDR Deucravacitinib helped regrow hair and reduce plaques in a woman with discoid lupus erythematosus without side effects.
A 48-year-old woman with treatment-refractory discoid lupus erythematosus, characterized by scarring scalp plaques and alopecia, was treated with deucravacitinib, a tyrosine kinase 2 inhibitor. After 3 months, she experienced symptom resolution and 1-2 cm of hair regrowth, with further significant hair regrowth and plaque reduction observed at 6 months. The treatment was well-tolerated with no side effects, suggesting deucravacitinib as a promising therapy for refractory cases of this condition.
