Dissecting cellulitis of the scalp is a rare and chronic condition that primarily affects Black males in early to mid-adulthood, leading to painful nodules, purulent drainage, and potential cicatricial alopecia. This case report of an adult Black male with the condition discusses its epidemiology, etiology, pathology, and evaluation, while also reviewing evidence-based management practices and the importance of interdisciplinary consultation. The report emphasizes the racial disparities associated with dissecting cellulitis and aims to promote early diagnosis and effective management to improve patient outcomes.
