TLDR Dermal papilla cell-conditioned medium can help reduce skin aging caused by oxidative stress.
This study investigates the effects of dermal papilla cell-conditioned medium (DPC-CM) on skin photoaging, particularly its role in inhibiting ferroptosis. Using a photoaging model with UVA-irradiated fibroblasts, the study found that DPC-CM, along with the ferroptosis inhibitor ferrostatin-1 (FER-1), partially reversed UVA-induced damage, including reduced cell viability, increased senescence, and altered ferroptosis-related markers. Proteomic analysis indicated that proteins in DPC-CM are linked to ferroptosis pathways. In vivo results showed that DPC-CM significantly mitigated UVA-induced dermal aging. These findings suggest that DPC-CM has therapeutic potential for treating oxidative stress-related skin disorders by modulating ferroptosis.
