TLDR Dupilumab helped an 11-year-old boy regrow hair and reduce skin rashes.
A clinical case involving an 11-year-old boy with alopecia areata and atopic dermatitis demonstrated that dupilumab, a biologic drug, may be effective in treating severe forms of alopecia areata complicated by atopic dermatitis. The boy received 300 mg of dupilumab every 4 weeks, resulting in a significant decrease in skin rashes and complete hair regrowth in affected areas over 9 months. The study suggests that dupilumab could be a promising treatment for similar cases, but further clinical studies are necessary to confirm its efficacy and safety.
