This study evaluated the effects of prolonged testosterone treatment combined with algestone acetophenide and estradiol enanthate on 12 female capuchin monkeys over 210 days. The treatment led to hormonal changes, including reduced estrone concentrations and altered coagulation factors, such as decreased prothrombin and thromboplastin times and increased platelet numbers. Additionally, the combination treatment elevated levels of oestrone, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and cortisol, and increased sexual behavior frequency. These findings suggested that synthetic steroids could bind to endothelial receptors, affecting coagulation and hormonal balance.
